As the poor try to eke out livings through farming and other subsistence practices, they exhaust the land, using up the soil nutrients needed to grow crops.

In the UK over 13 million of us live in poverty. That's one-in-five without enough to live on.

By 2013 there will be 3.1 million children in poverty in the UK.

92 countries and its main focus is poverty, food, sanitaion and womes rights. Last year year this charity raised a staggering 14.5 million people in 57 countries, 5,700,000 people were given acess to clean water and 760, 000 people helped grow more food. Money is raised with campaigns, festivals, schools and donating clothes.

Book Aid International increases access to books and supports literacy, education and development in sub-Saharan Africa. We provided 516,138 new books to over 2,000 libraries last year alone and have sent more than 30 million books to partner libraries since 1954.

Médecins Sans Frontières was founded in Paris is 1971 (MSF). It`s an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
