Introduction
Aim is:

■ to introduce global environmental
problems and show ways
to help the Earth.

Слайд 4Role of man in ecology
Our Earth

is a beautiful home for living beings, common for all the humanity forever. The number of the planet’s population is increasing constantly, but the technical progress is not only for the people’s welfare, but it also threatens the life itself. When people pursue great profits, they often act unwisely - destroy nature, pollute the environment. The poisoning of air, land and oceans is the fastest spreading disease of civilization.

Слайд 5Carbon dioxide
■ the increase of carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere;

over the past 100 years carbon dioxide has increased from 260 ppm to 350 ppm;
■ raising the temperature of the earth through this process knowing as the greenhouse effect:
the melting of polar ice caps;
change the climate regionally and globally;
alter natural vegetation;
affect crop production;
raise sea levels.

“A nation that destroys it's soils destroys itself. Forests are

the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.”

Слайд 13Global warming
Each time we burn gasoline, oil, coal,

or natural gas, more carbon dioxide is added to the atmosphere.
The greenhouse effect is what causes the temperate of the Earth to rise, and creates many problems for the environment.

Слайд 16The WWF mission
Simply put: we're in the business of saving our

one and only planet.

The WWF was founded in 1961. At first it was a small group of people who wanted to save animals and plants. Today the WWF was raised over 35 million for conservation projects and has created or given support to National parks in 5 continents. It has helped 30 mammals and birds to survive.
There are a lot of nature centres in all the
countries of the world, such as: “Friends of the
Earth”, “Green peace”, “Trust” and many others.
