in the
Kazakh city
of Guriev. Timur Bekmambetov became one of the most famous
Kazakhs in the film industry.
When Timur was young, he was always interested in art and the cinema.
He moved to Tashkent in Uzbekistan in 1982 and studied art, theatre and film.
He started his career directing TV commercials. He directed
fims Night Watch and Day Watch in Russian Film Academy.
He moved to Hollywood to make films in 2005. In Hollywood he made
well-known film, Wanted (Іздеу саламыз), starring
Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman.
